Saving a character

Hi there,
Sorry if this question is a repeat, I have searched, but couldn't find anything too easily.

I am looking to create a character with clothing and props/accessories etc and then save him for future use in different scenes. I have tried saving as a character preset, but when loaded back again only the figure and pose was loaded.

Do I need to group together my components before I save them?

Many thanks

Luke

Try a wearables preset - by default it will save only the clothes and props parented to the figure but it does have extra tabs through which you can enable saving other elements. The other option is a Scene Subset.

I use Scene Subsets for this.

after you entered the filename a dialog appears where you can decide which part of the scene should go in the subset.

parenting ecerything needed to the figure is a good idea but not necessary.

  • Save it as a subset and then when you open it or merge scene it will bring the entire character in with the same props
