Whew, finally settling down enough around here for me to check in.

Wendy, the package was here when I got home late Wednesday afternoon. Unfortunately, I can't get it to install. It goes half-way then sticks. Maybe because it says up to XP and I'm running Win7, but that shouldn't matter. Then I discovered a C7Pro with S/N that I had downloaded from Cnet a long time ago. The installer worked, but still no Native Content. It took the S/N, but when I try to register it with
DAZ, I get a 404. Guess I'll try to call them Monday.

Crap...Jeff, did you take my cup of coffee? What does Cecil look like? Are you sure he's there with you or did he sneak over here and confiscate my coffee? Well, I've got to find it. Back later maybe.

Does this package start with a C and end with Pro? If so, we need to throw another party to celebrate!

You might need to reboot your computer and try again. If that doesn't work, try a defrag/disk cleanup, then reboot and retry. Works for me sometimes.

the program should still install on Win7, I have the figures, characters and avatars C6pro version on my desktop
it switches to non-Aero interface when I run it
maybe the disc is iffy? there are free programs for getting data off damaged discs on cnet, I used one on a disc once
if you CAN get it to install you can use the content with C7pro if you have it too, will have to copy it to the folder.
hope it works out, I was thinking you would use C8.5 beta with the content anyway.

I am discovering the quirks of Poser7 and having a second monitor!
forced to use Firefly to render as I cannot export the scene to Carrara.
I could not figure out how to cancel the render when I discovered I'd decapitated my kinky goth nun!
the cancel window was hiding under the render window on my main monitor while I had dragged the program window over to my other one.
she has the Nun outfit with the hip clothified but because it is a figure not a prop dyntomorphs will not work so I cannot save the sim even, have to render.
Actually surprised how quick a full HD 1920x1080 frame renders compared to Daz studio 4 64bit ( it is only 32bit), not quite Carrara speed but close, under 10secs.
    have lights and shadows too.

I'm pretty bad I guess, I've had Vue 10 F for quite a bit now, never installed it. As far as that goes my Vue 9 F is not installed either. Nor is Carrara 6Pro. Right now its just Bryce 7Pro, Hex2.5, DS3A and DS4.5Pro and my two art proggies PSP7 and PS CS6. And I hardly use more than two of them in a week.

Opps, FilterForge 3 is installed as well, not used much either.

Looked into FilterForge 3 but I don't think I could afford it, and if I could, I don't think I could justify its cost unless I start doing more texturing.

Vue just has a WOW factor, it's so easy, and the render engine is fantastic.

I should look at V10. As for FF3 I won it in a contest, I could not afford it either.
But is it GOOD? And easy? I need easy!

Don't think the basic version lets you create your own filters though, and that's where I want to be.

Jacob, you can do booger particles in Carrara, like I did my Alien vPredator kiss slime.

    Blah FF3.
But is it GOOD? And easy? I need easy!
Yes it is, to both. My trouble with it is all the free filters on-line. I get lost for hours and forget why I went there in the first place.

I can see that being a problem!

I was looking for something that can make tree bark really easily (no, no jokes about trees going woof woof please), but haven't found anything yet. Not even sure FF3 can do it.

I found this... http://www.mapzoneeditor.com/?PAGE=FEATURES but not sure if it's any good. Looks like it might be though.

Looks pretty good to me, Kind of like FF and PS added together. With a 3D object viewer to boot. Not bad.

doh, figured out the Poser shadowcatcher!!! needed a plane, not the default ground!
the latter works imported into Carrara but not in Poser.

    The 1st party.

It was a gray and gloomy day. Intermittent sprinkles failed to dampen our spirits though. This was the baby's first experience toddling in a park and he loved every step of it. His other grandparents provided the eats---barbeque, chips, dips, cans of soda, bottles of water, pristine cupcakes. His mama provided his first birthday cake,. chocolate with chocolate frosting. Somehow he planted his left foot in the cake as he flipped it over. Both grandmas took his to the park restroom and washed him off.

He was asleep before his mother could get the car started. I got home around 4, had a cigarette and cup of coffee, hit the bed and slept for 4 hours.

My sleep pattern is going to be messed up again.

    sounds fun!
my brother's mate deliberately got him totally sloshed spiking his beer with vodka before driving him to the surprise 21st Birthday party I had set up and he fell into the huge black forest cherry cake Mum and I had made!!
he kept apologizing, I was mad at his mate though.
he kept saying he did not want a party so I planned one in secret and managed to pull it off as a total surprise, he was quite emotionally touched and very upset he was so drunk for it.

on another note, have you tried temp copying your disc contents to your desktop?
I often need to install stuff off discs from the desktop or a drive, my Poserword discs spring to mind, still haven't gotten all my stuff off them as they will not extract off the disc to a folder but if you copy it all to the computer they will but a lot of files so only done one.

That sounds like a waste of a delicious cake, Wendy.

I hadn't thought of copying from the disk to my HD. I'll have to try that. Tomorrow I want to take it upstairs to my XP and give it a try there too.

Urgh my living room is full of underage lesbians!

Well, that's what it looked like anyway. Living room full of little girls all huggled together! Horrible sight. If only they were 18!

    Big Downer Alert!

It is a sad time for all of us here in this part of the grove. Nine families, all within walking distance of my house, were touched by a loss in the family yesterday. We lost two People yesterday, one is in a better place and has been released from her years long fight with several medical issues. Donna will be missed by family and friends, her passing has left a dull place in my heart. I grew up with her and watched her children become young men and women.

We also lost Jacob, my Almost brother in laws (he and my sister are a couple but refuse to marry) youngest son from another marriage. It seems the young man, in his teens, and at least one friend were playing with guns. All I know for sure is he passed away and Brian and my sister are devastated.

I am in shock myself, I have known these people like my own family and think of them as family. May the Lord give them peace and help those here who will need him more now than ever before.

I found this one from Cnet buried on my external drive: CarraraPr0Trial_7.1.1.37_windows.exe and installed it too. I also have Carrara8.1 and Carrara8 .5 Pro Build172
