My old laptop still functions and I doubt I deleted anything back from when I first downloaded. How can I find 4.8 again? Please help. I don't want to start learning all over!!
Did you isntall with DIM or the stand-alone installer? If DIM, the zip should be in the downloads folder as long as it wasn't set to delete on install: just copy it to the DIM Downloads folder on your new machine and with DIM not online (or it will show only the 4.9 update) install. If you used the stand-alone isntaller that will be wherever you put it. There's nothing horrible in 4.9, however - you aren't forved to use Connect if you don't want to (at least, not for content that would be usable in 4.8).
I got impatient and just figured I might as well get 4.9. And you're right, it's fine! I was afraid the menus and windows would work all differently and I'd have to search in order to find commands. But nope, it's all pretty much in the same spot with a few added bells and whistles. Not bad at all!
