I was wonderring how do I get detail in my clouds? I am using a picture I grabbed online with a resolution of 1600x1200. I set it as the backdrop and messed with the intensity and the map settings but cant get anything but blown out white. Even lowering the settings still blows them out to pure white.  Is there any way to get this picture into the sky so i can see it as it looks as shown? Do you just have to buy a package in order to do this? I am looking for a dark storm cloud look in general. Many thanks!

Are you using the image as an envioronment map ?  Environment map tab is for HDRI maps.  You can use Skies of iradiance in environment map slot.  Which will produce various sky clouds.

or you could use Iray clouds to create clouds of your  desire.

You can use image you obtained online as background.  Envioronment tab >  backdrop > background dropdown menu > browse > select image.
