This Chessboard Doesn't have Checkers in Iray?! (ArmourAge)

I applied the "Glass" board, and it looks like the file. I tried changing all kinds of settings in the material zones for black and white to no-avail. It always looks like one sheet of polished aluminum, instead of being checkered at all.  I tried applying the settings for "white" spaces to the base board, and it looks like the second file. What can I do to the glass board to get the colors set?!

Well to start I would apply the Iray Ubershader to the surfaces. That should go a long way to getting it more glass like.

Btw.. the uber iray is in the iray shaders in shader presets for content library and in shaders/iray/uber in smart content. Select the board in the scene and all the surfaces in the surface tab and double click the shader.

That didn't really change much (although I should probably do that regardless).

Yes you should. It may not always seem like it but it does impact render times.  I wish I were more help but I just don't know enough about the product. I feel like there is a map missing or not in the proper place for the squares though.

Here is that same chessboard rendered using Iray materials. I changed the pawns to glass material, and gave the black pawns added SSS for their dark colour. The chessboard is onyx and pearl, from the gemstones collection for Iray, and the edge is metal.

There are two images here. One with thin glass, the other with the glass set to zero opacity to remove it entirely. The glass has fairly high reflectivity so I think it looks better without it. Lighting is just an IBL.
