Best Instructional Aids

Having taken the plunge into Daz3d and CGI in general, I've noticed two things.
1.  Daz can get addictive and expensive REAL quick.
2.  It can be as simple or as intensive as you wish to make it.

Looking at the some of the amazing work done with Daz in the galleries and places like Deviant Art, you quickly come to realize what a powerful artistic tool Daz can be, but that level only comes with time and study.  So I'm asking everybody what books, tuts, and other disciplines have you found useful in getting a grasp of the skills need to go from 0 to 100 with this software.

At present I'm doing the Dreamlight Introductory tutorials as well as their course on Lighting.

You might have a look at, and enter, the New User contests http://www.daz3d.com/forums/categories/new-user-contests-and-events - there's always lots of advice to be had in those threads.

I'm doing a series for new users on my YouTube channel right now!  It's only two videos in, but there will be lots more soon.  There are a lot of other tuts on my channel but they're targeted more at people that are already users of Studio.

As Richard has said. The New User contests takes you from beginner to a stage where you know enough to get you to start playing and feel partially comfortable.. Check out all the "WIP" threads in the new user contest forum. There are typically tutorials in the first post. I know it can be tedious but there is a LOT of info if you read through the threads.

Thanks.  I never would have thought of looking in a contests thread.

I've  learned that pretty much anything you want to do well tends to be tedious in the early stages.  If that weren't the case there would be many more virtuosos in every field and profession.
