Creating a new spawn location

Hey guys and gals,

I was wondering if anyone knew how to have items spawn in at a new location rather than the default center of the scene location. Most of the time I load in a set and I spawn in items for a particular location in the scene - that is sometimes far off from the center - and having to "walk" each new prop to the new location is annoying. I would like it if I could just add a new prop somewhere closer to where I am working. I would also like it if there was someway to make a copy and paste or clone of an item appear right on top of the other one. Like for instance I only have 1 lightbar in a scene and I want another to go right next to it, if I could have "Light Bar (2)" spawn in right on top of "Light Bar" then just use x,y,z translate to adjust.

Thanks for any help.

If you hold down the Alt key while dragging an item to the viewport a target will appear for the location to load it (this only affects the X and Z coordinates).

Thank you Mike! BTW I figured out a way to get that droid working just havent dug up the thread. It is 3Delight only and I had to move a couple files. This is a big help though, I was pretty sure I was missing some key info on this. Thanks.
