Is it possible to make "Twin" props/characters?
What I mean is, say I was trying to line up a row of lamps or columns. Do I have to load them all individually from the start point in the center and then reposition them? Or can I put one where I want it and then copy it or "clone" it in place and then move it left or right or forward and back from the desired position.
I know I can put the first one where I want it, copy the coordinates in the properties tab and then move to where I want it from there. Just wondered if there was a short cut. It's not THAT hard to do this way, but if there is a faster way, I'd love to know!
Thanks everyone!

Tofusan has an instancing script that would make it easier, but what you are are essentially asking is 'can Studio do instancing'...yes it can.

What I use is with selected figure: Edit->Duplicate->Duplicate Node Hierarchies.
But this doesn't work always. If there is an animation I have to save the file, close it and reopen it or the view won't show any new animation changes made. I had also problems with figures using geo shells and this method as the surface wasn't correct afterwards but for the rest it works fine from my experience.
This one might work for you as well :) It looks pretty simple to use, I haven't tried it yet though

You can simply use copy and paste. It will copy the attributes, such as position and rotation so you can more easily position copies.
Are you kidding Herald? I mean that's basically what I was hoping for but everyone that has responded has some other, more complicated method. How do you just "Copy/Paste"?
As Mike9 said, the way you copy/paste in Daz is go to edit->duplicate
if it's a multipart item or has stuff parented to it, do duplicate node heirarchy
It creates a copy in the exact position as the original. The reason I suggested widdershin's script is because if you are going to copy multiple times (such as a row of street lights) this would be the easiest way as you just select your item, tell it how many copies you want and how far apart and done.
Sorry, I just get confused when people use different terminology. I was going to go look for "Copy/Paste" options.
