Viewport speed insided an environment

I have noticed that some of my environments that are both inside and outside behave differently when moving around them. Sometimes when I try to shift my view RLUD it will lag and then in other environments it's a very smooth movement. What causes that? I don't have the fastest computer ever and figured that the speed had to do with the complexity of the environment. But I'm not sure that's true. Some of my more complex ones are the easiest to move perspective/camera view/characters in. Just curious if anyone knows why this is.

Examples:

http://www.daz3d.com/dance-studio-add-on-daz-studio Can lag when trying to work inside this environment.

Just in case that helps.

Thanks!

From my experience, the more reflective surface/lighting there are in a scene,  Scene rotation can lag.  As in the dance studio, prop has huge mirros and lot's of lighting, opposed to faded industry which has minimal lighting and no reflective surfaces.

You might have a look at the options in the preferences dialog (click the Edit menu...Preferences).  For example, the display optimization setting defaults to off.  http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/artzone/pub/software/dazstudio/reference/prefsif

Texture file sizes will also affect the viewport, that could also be part of the problem.

If what KurzonDax said doesn't help, or you'd still like the viewport to operate more smoothly, go to Edit > Preferences. Then click the Interface tab and under Texture Resources there's a slider, try sliding it towards performance and see if that helps. Turning off hardware anti-aliasing may also improve viewport performance.

    I hope that helps...
