hi, y'all...

i've been trying to learn my way around the app for a while now, but i still haven't been able to figure out how to save and return to a consistent framing/POV when working on a render.  i get the composition set up, i render a couple of drafts, i save the file and quit the app...and when i reopen the file the next day, good lord, i'm looking at my characters from the other side of a giant rock or something.  :)

i'm guessing that cameras may be the key to this?  but whatever the technique is, i certainly haven't managed to stumble across it yet.

i'd be very grateful for any kind of advice you'd care to share.

Are you loading a new camera or using the perspective camera? My guess is the perspective. It is going to reset every time you open the file. Add your own cameras and they will stay where you put them.

    Thank you, Khory...

Groovy! May I suggest that you create a "starter scene" that includes a camera when the program loads? Create and save a scene that has a camera. If you have a go to character then you can include that as well. Save the scene and then go to edit/preferences and click the start up tab. You will see some On "launch" options and the top is load file. Be sure that is clicked and then via the drop down next to it browse to where you have saved that starter scene. That way every time you start a new scene it will load with a camera for you.

    thank you, Khory!

i just clipped your advice to my desktop, and will follow it faithfully tomorrow, when i fire up your Scintillant Portrait Lights for the first time.  :)

after reading the lights' commercial thread (and evilded777's totally stoking review) and checking out the renders, i'm expecting a very happy morning.
