Anyone Else Hit with This?

Got an e-mail this morning about how my credit card couldn't be charged for my Daz account.  This was odd because I updated the new card info over a month ago.  I went to look and all my saved credit card info attached to my Daz account was just gone.  Huh.  I reentered the info for my card.  Then when I went to make a purchase, THAT failed because, I was told, "Your address contains an invalid country, please add a new address."  So I went to look at my address info attached to my account and saw that THAT had disappeared, too.  I reentered my address information and was able to make the purchase.  I'm just wondering if I should be at all worried about this stealth purge of my info.  Thanks.

Are you sure that email was from DAZ? Did you click on links or go to daz3d dot com directly? Could be a scam.

It sounds really suspicious. I would check with DAZ and your credit card bank. It could be a way for scammers to get you to enter your credit card number.

While thaat is good advice it does sound as if these issues were actually shwoing in their account.

I would suggest opening a Sales suport ticket regardless of whether anyone else has the same issues.

  • Believe me, I'm as hyper-paranoid about links as you're likely to find.  I don't even click on stuff my mom sends me.  And I LIKE that woman.  So, yeah, when I saw the e-mail I went directly to my Daz account page to find all this weirdness was goin' on.  It seems to be okey-dokey now, but...it was just unexpected and odd.

I am paranoid about leaving my credit card data around on sites. So I type it in manually each time if I don't have a gift card balance. I used PayPal one time, but the weird notices from them made it annoying.

There was one year that my old bank was hacked three times and I went through three sets of credit and debit cards because of that. And after AT&T was hacked, my data was stolen and showed up on the dark web, I am glad I never gave them my bank data. But having to be monitored is a pain.

I never click on a link in an email unless it's for something I just signed up for, and they need to verify the email. I see the message in the email and always go to the actual site myself and look around to be sure that the email was official but still don't click on the clinks and just do what I needed to do that was described in the email. Furthermore, I don't trust anything online anymore. My Microsoft account got hacked somehow, and it was a nightmare to get worked out with them a couple of years back.
