Darn foot sliding

Newbie animation question here, just starting to play around and am finding it so difficult to keep the character's feet pinned to the floor. They wobble all over the place. Any tricks or tools or recommendations from the more experienced crowd?

Not sure which character you are using, but if G9 you will want to get this:  Limbstick for Genesis 9

For Genesis 8 or 3: Limbstick for Genesis 3 + 8
