Scene Info window/tab can't do simple addition? (Solved)

It says one scene has 1,627 verts.

So I put another copy of everything in the scene into the scene, and add yet another object to boot.

Then it says the scene has 2,976 verts. That is less than double the original amount. Why?

If you correctly loaded the very same subset or 100% duplcated the selected items, the vertex count should be correct, i.e. x2 ... Maybe you can check the items again.

    Nope:

Cut to the chase: you can download my free model and see for yourself what I'm talking about.

The dowload features 2 scene subset assemblies: the single and the double. Contrast the vertex count between them and see for yourself.

You are not duplicating the elevator

    Single
    799 Observation Deck, V1
    012 Base, Small, Short, V1

    816 Elevator, V1

    1627 TOTAL

    Double
    799 Observation Deck, V1, Right
012 Base, Small, Short, V1, Right

    799 Observation Deck, V1, Left
012 Base, Small, Short, V1, Left

    816 Elevator, V1
    538 Bridge, V1

    2976 TOTAL
