Making a Ghost - Hair Opacity Problem

I want to make your classic semi-tranparent ghost. Easy-peasy, drop the opacity, etc... except when I do it for hair (specifically, https://www.daz3d.com/force-hair-for-genesis-3-female-s), nothing happens. The hair stays extremely visible. I've selected everything you can select (most of which already says it's at something like 20% opacity), and nothing changes.

I've tried https://www.daz3d.com/iray-ghost-shaders but, same thing. Not quite the answer I'm looking for but using either character or object shaders on it - does nothing.

  • Semi-transparent is likely to look weird, since you see the back of the figure and the internal bits, such as they may be. The classic ghost is self-opaque but allows the things behind it to be seen, which is definitely non-physical. I would do two renders, one without the figure, one with or one just the figure (or both) and belnd them in an image editor.
