Creating smoke or mist.

in New Users
I have a lot of brushes for Photoshop for things like smoke and mist but I want to make it present in the render itself for the most realistic look. Is there a tutorial or something someone can point me to?
I read somewhere about just making a sphere primitive and using SSS. How is this achieved?
Thanks

Assuming you're working with Iray and not 3Delight, take a look at Sickleyield's tutorial at DeviantArt.
You could use your brushes to create an image of your smoke/mist. Save it as a png, then set it to black and white and invert the colors and save it for your transparency map (black is transparent, white is what you see)
Then in daz you can load a primitive, set your smoke/mist png as the diffuse map and your transparency png in the opacity slot.
There is always Sickle's tutorial which does work although I've never really been able to achieve the look I was going for.
