Why doesn't the horse have a shadow in the public restroom?

Was: I was wondering if dFore needed for the Horse 3 hair.  I just got that model with my monthly DAZ original coupon.

Now, why does the horse have no shadow in the public restroom?

I found out the hair does.  Now to figure out why there is no shadow for the horse in the public restroom.

Maybe the camera auto-lamp (it seems to be active on your renders) is just too strong and is washing out shadows ?

Actually, if you look closely at the image you posted, the horse DOES seem to have a shadow. There's a large diffuse one on the stall door and wall behind the horse, with a curve on one side. This would indicate that Elor was correct, and your camera headlamp is the only active light in the scene, or everything else is so soft that it's washing out shadows.

Just to be sure: do you have the correct version of the restroom in the scene? Public Restrooms by @FirstBastion has both a 3Delight and an Iray version. I'm sure you've checked that, but I just thought it would be good to make sure.

I think this is the restroom that is being used in the scene.  https://www.daz3d.com/restroom-interior

I would agree that the ceiling light intensity would have to be increased to produce a shadow on the floor.  Or, if the headlamp gets turned off, and increasing the ISO to 400,  the shadows would probably show up.

The ceiling lights included with that scene file are set very low luminance,  you would want to increase that number.

The shadows are there but they are very subtle even with increase illumination.

Just out of curiosity, why would you want to lead a horse to a public bathroom? laugh

I also wonder why.. haha ~

Emissive lights won't directly bring you distinct shadow... but you can tweak settings in Tone Mapping a bit (ss1)

Or further add a fill light from a certain angle if you need a deeper shadow. (ss2)

Good question that I don't have an answer for.  At least not a good one?

Try selecting the horse and click Ctrl/d to make sure it is actually on the floor.
