Which upscaller do you think the best to keep the details?

If you render to canvasses there is a Scale setting for each canvas when it is selected.
Is that some kind of after the fact upscaling, or does it render at a higher resolution?
According to https://raytracing-docs.nvidia.com/iray/manual/index.html#reference#render-target-canvases
I use the scale option in canvas from 1 to 2.
But it doesn't upscale.
the resolution remain the same.
I have often run my image series though both Rife to interpolate and Real ESRgan to upscale
one can use Automatic 1111 extensions or standalone programs like Flowframes and Waifu2X-Caffe
(I do both)
or something like Topaz Gigapixel if happy to pay for it
Is the iRay render engine using DLSS to predict neighboring pixels in the next render passes to speed up renders or is it doing it all every pass, every pixel? If so, it there a way to turn it on and off?
Which doesn't seem to work.
4.23.1.8 studio beta, tesla p40 for rendering.
Nope, the Canvas scaling value of 2.00 did not produce a canvas any larger than the dimensions set in the Render Settings General tab. I am using DS 4.23.1.27 Public Build, and I rendered a Beauty Canvas.
I have no experience with this feature and prefer to do this sort of thing in post, but I did read the docs out of curiosity and noticed that the denoiser must be available. From the docs that Richard linked to:
Upscaling is handled by the Deep Learning-based Denoiser, which must be made available for this option to be accepted. While the denoiser must be available, it does not need to be globally active . . .
Might be something to try if it wasn't available when you tested.

ETA: Posted after following the link Richard posted but should have noticed that he already quoted this info in his post - doh! Anyway, was the denoiser available when you rendered?
I tried enabling the SSIM denoiser, and the post denoiser, in various combinations, and got bubkis.
Starting to think this is 20 series and above option only, as it may require tensor cores.
Yes, as I understand the settings. These were the scene render settings.
I have activated the denoiser, but no luck in upspcaling.
ver. public build 4.23.

Yes, Daz devs have had a poke at this and it doesn't seem to be ebhaving as in the docs - they are investigating.
It seems in the current update, they remove the upscale.
Too bad.
They who? This seems to be something not working as documented in Iray itself.
DAZ devs.
I update my public build. to 4.23.1.36
The slider for upscale not existing anymore.
It is hidden unless applicable, as specified by nVidia - though the issue of its not working when the conditions are met remains open. See http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/change_log#4_23_1_30
