2D Sprites creation part 2 - Mask map by using canvases in iray
Hi,
So I'm learning to create 2d sprites using 3d assets from Daz, and now I know how to create normal map using Iray Canvases. Now, in Unity there's a thing called Mask Map, which is a map where each properties: Metallic, Ambient Occlusion, Height (or Detail map), Smoothness are stored in Red, Green, Blue and Alpha channels, respectively. My question is, can Iray Canvases help me create this map (with 4 channels) like the way it help me create normal map? For starter, I can see that there is a Ambient Occlusion canvas which should allows me to create the Ambient Occusion map? How about the Metallic, Height (or detail) and Smoothness? How can I put together this map of the 4 properties?
Ok so upon watching this video here at the current timestamp, I realized I misunderstood the mask map and now I have no idea what is it. Hopefully some expert can give me some explanation otherwise I'll keep searching for a way to create them ...
Thank you very much.
Best regards,
Minh

This is an interesting topic.
Why do not you post it in Daz3D dedicated Unity forums?

Hi,
Yeah you're right I'll post there. I actually didn't know there's a dedicated Unity forum ! Also originally I thought this is about how to utilized Iray Canvases to make the maps that could be useful in Unity. But as I learn I think I have to do this inside Unity more.
Thanks for your feed back.
