Just updated to 4.23 from 4.21 and it takes a lot of time to close - can it be made to just close w/o waiting extra time?

Also how to open more than 1 DUF at once?

The closing time has not been extended (I think), but before it was closing in the background, and made people to mess up Daz Studio, e.g. updating to a new version (whilke it was in fact still running). You could follow it in task manager.

Therefore (I assume) it was made visible that it was closing.

Why then, it takes so long time to close, is a mystery to me. If you wanted to save it, you had to do it before, Of course the database needs to be prober closed, but that can't take that long.

Starting from 4.22, DS closing progress is brought to foreground, i.e. you can see a dialogue telling you the progress of closing. You won't see DS window closed until the progress dialogue disappears. Then DS session will be completely killed in 10 ~ 15 seconds in the background.

This is a by-design feature... there's nothing you can do in the progress of closing, and in general, total closing time is not extented.

What do you mean by "open more than 1 DUF at once" ? 1 DS session can only open 1 DUF ... but you can use Launch Multi-Instances script to open more than 1 DS sessions. (per release...)

I'm asking exactly about something like this. For 4.21 I used some parameters added to the starting shortcut; can you explain please how to lauch more than one instances please?

Check and download the script (Launch_Instance.dse) in this page: http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/referenceguide/tech_articles/command_line_options/application_instancing/start

Place it into your Script folder, create a Custom Action with shortcut or put it on a Toolbar for easy access. Click to launch multiple instances as you wish.

I can launch only one instance from the script; I use the free DAZ version and see no such stuff as on the posted image.

    Please advise.

PS. If I click on it again it returns an error.

The script works in both DS Pro General Release and Public Build.

I just place the script onto the toolbar. You can do the same by: 1) Place the script into: Your Daz Lib\Scripts\, right-click on it to Create a Custom Action; 2) Press F3, drag the script icon from Custom Action List to Main Tool Bar on the right > Menus.

I've never seen error from running this script. So what's the error ?

Obviously I don't understand something. When clicking on it from the toolbar simply nothing happens (I have to open one DAZ instace to reach it, right?). An error appears if I try to click it directly from the scripts folder in the Content library.

Oh... it's odd... Pls try to use the one in this post https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/5112696/#Comment_5112696

That should be the up-to-date version.

It worked as intended, thanks. It seems somethign was wrong with the donwload itself of the previous script as it was just 1k and the new script was 5k. AND - the new script has an option either to launch a new instant OR to generate (and copy) a ready link for the shortcut icon - in my case: "C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4\DAZStudio.exe" -instanceName #
