'Clear Scene' not working in 4.23?

Hello there, I've just installed 4.23 and it won't 'clear scene', when I hit the Clear Scene button or Ctl N I just keep getting a 'New Scene' thing popping up and another strange thing is the New Scene thing is telling me that DAZ 4.22 is now available for download? 

How do I stop this please ? Because the only way out at the moment is just by closing Studio down and having to start all over again.

It's not 'new', was added in a 4.22 version update, and people(including myself) have been complaining about this off and on for over a year.

I just created a custom action to load an empty scene and changed the short cut to that action.

I have mine set to just go to a blank scene with my prefered render settings, but it makes no difference because I can't simply 'clear scene' because this dang 'New Scene' thing keeps popping up every time I try to. If I close the 'New Scene' window I'm still stuck with the scene I'm trying to clear and the only way I can get out of it is by closing Studio and starting all over again.

Thanks crosswind but I don't fancy messing around with things I don't understand so I'll give that a miss.

 I'm seriously thinking I'll just go back to using my 4.21 and give this mess a by-pass.

It's just a simple script...plus Create a Custom Action and assign a Shortcut for it...

You can have it done in 30 ~ 40 seconds and it's a once and for all solution ~~
