Zev0 Genesis 9 to 8 pose converter - an appreciation and a question

I purchased this product yesterday and I already fell in love with it, thank you Zev0, it's a huge QoL thing <3

I have a question tho. Some poses are not recognized as poses by the script. As I noticed, it happens when a prop is added to the pose.

For example the staff poses in this product: https://www.daz3d.com/kuj-long-stick-martial-arts-poses-for-genesis-9

Or poses involving the schoolbag in this product: https://www.daz3d.com/cute-poses-for-victoria-9

And my question: is there a way to make the script recognize those poses or they can be converted only manually?

The script can only work with the presets with File Type: preset_pose rather than wearable or others.  Check screenshot1

Workaround 1 ( a bit cumbersome... ):  You can apply the preset on G9 firstly, save a pure Pose Preset. Then use the script with the saved Pose Preset. For the bag, you have to manually place it to the correct postion...

Workaround 2 (once and for all and free !):

1) 1stly recommend a free script from n_alexandru https://www.renderosity.com/freestuff/items/93661/genesis-1239-pose-converter-for-genesis-8 Extract the script to: your Daz Library\Scripts folder. Create a Custom Action to place it to DS Scripts menu / and Toolbar.
2) Open the script with Script IDE or NotePad++, comment code lines from 804 to 807 by using //. Save the script. (ss1)
3) Check this thread to understand how to use Smart Prop from G9 to G8 https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/698881/smart-props-g8-to-g9
4) Load the preset to G8F, zero G8F's pose ! Then follow above point 3) to parent the bag to G8F's Hand.
5) Use n_alexandru's Script to conver the Pose to G8F (ss2)

Hi. Tried this but had no luck getting it to work. I added the // to the script and saved. I then load the pose (G8 figure with G9 Pose),  zero pose, run the script but get the error that "The selected item is not a pose preset."

1) alexandru updated the script last month... https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/605941/genesis-1-2-3-8-9-to-genesis-2-3-8-9-pose-converter-updated-2025-01-03/p1 If you use the latest version, check the screenshot down below to comment the code lines.... Save the script then click Execute button to test it in Script IDE. It'll work.

2) Then if you run the script from Script menu or Toolbar,  you have to close DS and relaunch it. With older DS versions, there's a glitch for updating the script with action links. I have the very same issue with DS 4.22.

Thank you for your help. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but still no luck. I'm using 4.21 so maybe that's my issue? Also, after I edit the code and hit execute, I get a script error (see attached).

 Pls carefully check my screenshot above... you wrongly commented the code lines. You should've typed // after that }
