    It is the vendor(s) initials.

Sometimes vendors collaborate on an item - the initials are how they identify themselves.  For example, I just picked up IDG Iray Hair Essentials Shaders - "IDG" means Inane Glory and Destiny's Garden.

  • Okay, it makes sense. But is anyone else anoyed that those items then appear in a weird place alphabeticly in the file structure? I know it's a small thing to complain about, but it drives me nuts.

I agree to a point yes, I sometimes wish artists would think more carefully before naming files as they do. It probably sounds straightforward enough to them at the time of creating but some file names make finding the product a damned nightmare sometimes.

FWS is to differentiate the products from a group of PAs that work both indivdually and colaboratively.  That is just one of their 'lines'.

Their naming tends to be very consistent.

And not all of the naming is random or vanity.  Artist Name is part of the 'standard' now.

Generally it should be Figure > (type of add on...Clothing, Hair, skin) > Artist > Specific product > any sub folders like 3Deligh/Iray or 'parts' (make up/eyes/etc).  If it is a stand alone item, not tied to a specific figure then it starts Prop, Architecture, etc.  All of that is mostly controlled by what is entered in the Save dialog when creating the product.
