DAZ+ to Base

In March my DAZ+ membership is up for renewal. Being on a single income, with the prices of products going up and up, and the price of memberships going up, sadly I am going to have to drop back to the base membership.

With that in mind, I have a couple of questions someone might be able to help me with:

1: How do I downgrade my membership to the Base membership? I don't see an option for that in my account information. In my Membership Management section of my Account under "DAZ Base" I see the option to "cancel subscription" but under "DAZ Plus" it only says "current membership".

I don't want to cancel the base subscription. I want to keep that. I want to cancel the Daz Plus subscription. There is no option to cancel the Plus membership - only the Base, which I don't want to cancel.

2: Will I loose my wishlist when I cancel the Plus membership?

Any help is appreciated.

    1) Cancel Subscription cancels your D+ subscription, and the D+ subscription will then run to its end date. I did that with mine already and it's set to end next month. Cancellation has been the Daz-preferred method for preventing renewal for a while now. Not sure how long - At least the last couple years, I think.

    2) Your wishlist is tracked separately. No worries there!

So, Torquinox, canceling my base membership actually doesn't cancel it but rather cancels my Plus membership and leaves my Base membership intact?

If you paid your subscription with Paypal, it's important to go to your Paypal account and disable the renewal of your subscription there too (I don't remember where it is in your Paypal account).

    Thanks Elor.

Yes. Everyone has a base membership no matter what. And if you use PayPal, what @Elor said about PayPal is important too.

PayPal doesn't (currently) have a category called "subscriptions" so IIRC you have to go to the list of payments, find Daz and click on it. You should see it listed as a "running payment," or something in that vein. Then you can choose to end payment on it.

You only have one membership. The column with your current level has no button; the button at the bottom of either of the other columns will switch your membership to that level.

Seems like a strange way to do it. The cancel should be beneath the membership you have at the moment not the base membership. If you have the premier membership the cancel button should be beneath that. If you have the Plus membership the cancel button should be nbeneath that. Or perhaps there should be a Change or Cancel button so that if you want to change your Premier to the Plus, you could click Change. If you just want to cancel your DAZ memebership you would click cancel. Seems more logical to me. But, that's just me.

Regardless ... thanks for the help.

Thanks for this. I do indeed have Paypal. [-)

I'm confused. Isn't the DAZ Base subscription just another name for customers wbo haven't subscribed to any program?!

If you can't find the option in your account, here's the link to PayPal's help article: https://www.paypal.com/us/cshelp/article/what-is-an-automatic-payment-and-how-do-i-update-or-cancel-one-help240

The interesting thing is, I was looking at the information about the three tiers and there was the option to sign up for the Base tier. So, if the Base tier is just anybody who doesn't have an account, why do you have to sign up for it? Just for billing purposes?

For anybody who doesn’t have a subscription, not who doesn’t have an account. You need an account to make a purchase or get DS.

Base tier is anyone who does have an account but not one of the paid-for subscription memberships.

I would like you all to know that switching from Disney Plus to the Disney/Hulu/HBO bundle is actually more confusing than the DAZ subscription plans.

Wow, am now extra glad we get ours via immediate family member's phone plan.

Incidentally, PayPal's Help/FAQ search is just like the Daz Forums search: if you want to find something there, you're better off using a search engine than site search.
