I have the Jill's Apartment Environment. It has a chair with a white towel and green cloth(?) I would like to know the step by step proceedure of how to make these objects move when they cannot move?

The chair and it's accessories are not selectable to be moved. I think it needs to be modified with Geometry selector tool but I don't the exact method of how to add a XYZ Axis to make it movable?

See attached screen.

I have no clue which product you are talking about.

What gets selected if you click on the chair with the Universal Tool?

Looking in the part of the scene tab I can see, it looks like there is many individual objects.

If the chair/towels isn't their own objects, you can convert the overall obect to an figure (if it isn't already), and then with the geometry tool select all the geometry on the chair/towels and create a new bone from selected. Then you can move the bone.

If you can select them in the scene tab, then go to the parameters tab, and check if translate is locked. If so unlock them.

If not locked, what happens if you move a slider, or type a new value in?

They Chair, white towel and green material don't show up in the Scene tab. That's why I asked my question.

Google suggests that this is a game-rip not a proper Daz product. Therefore, it's likely that this has been designed to run effiiciently in the game it came from and probably doesn't have the separated objects you were hoping for.

You are probably better off taking something like that into Blender I would imagine.

They're part of the Jill's Apartment Environment app. I'd link it here but moderaters chuck a wobbly.

I just looked it up, and it seems to be an app and if that is the case it won't be able to move anything without that app I'm thinking. As you suggested, it would be best to take it into Blender or some other modeling app and separated out if you want to move each object.

The Fridge and Laptop can be selected and moved along the XYZ axis. Why can they be selected? Look at the list in the Scene tab. There's a couple more items that can be. Surely there's a proceedure to make the Chair, Towel and Green Material be able to be moved.

You haven't actually said what get selected in the scene tab, when you select the chair in the viewport.

That's a question for whoever you got that product from. It would appear that only some of the items in the scene are separate objects - the ones that are not separate are not designed to be moved or adjusted independantly. If you paid for it then ask for your money back - if it was free then you often get what you pay for.

Daz Studio is primarily for compositing, arranging and adjusting existing models - it's not really a modelling application (although there are tools and plugins to do some stuff). Therefore, you are usually at the mercy of how things are split up. If you need an apartment environment then there are plenty of others available in the store and the vast majority will have the furniture and other objects as separate props.

That isn't entirely true - the Geometry Editor, with a bit of export/reimport, can be used to separate items or, as long as they aren't welded, the item can be covnerted to a figure and grouped (if it isn't) then made into a bone with the Joint Editor and Node Weightmap Brush.
