Model Expression Forgotten When Loading Up Scene

Like the title suggests, when I quit out of a scene and load the same one up, the model's expression is reset to the standard resting position. For some context, I'm using Face Controls for Genesis 9 (https://www.daz3d.com/face-control-for-genesis-9). The model's actual pose is remembered just fine and I'm not really sure why the expression gets reset. Is there an easy way to fix this? If not, how can I create a custom expression to boot up whenever I reload the scene? Any help is much appreciated, thanks!
