DS & DIM report different versions of DS are installed - SOLVED

When I launch DS and access Help > About DAZ Studio, the program reports that DAZ Studio 4.22.0.19 is installed. When I launch DIM and search my installed programs, DIM reports that DAZ Studio 4.23.x.x (with Resources, Templates, and Interactive Lessons) is installed. And indeed, a few weeks ago, I used DIM to install that update after using Windows to uninstall DAZ Studio 4.22.0.19. Both reports may be, but one report must be wrong. Has anyone a clue what the . . . is going on?

This discussion was prompted by a pop-up from DAZ3D seen this afternoon alerting me that a new version of DAZ Studio is now available for download. That version? DAZ Studio 4.23.x.x!

Pics attached. And thanks as always to one and all.

DIM always seem to report the latest product name, of which there can be only one, which in this case currently includes the 4.23. It does not necessarily show the version installed. The orange bar to the left of the name indicates that an update is available to what is installed.

So, in spite of my previous uninstall-current/install-update operation about two weeks ago, my installed version is still DS 4.22.0.19!  Is that what you are suggesting?

When DIM is offline it will get the name from the package details, not the server - that is why you can install an older version via DIM if you place the ZIP in the Downloads folder and work offline

Two weeks would be before the latest update, I think.

That is what Daz Studio is reporting, and is straight from the horse's mouth, so to speak. So, yeah, there is an update available. Was 4.23 even available two weeks ago? Seems like just this week...

  • Thanks to one and all. I've re-installed the offending packages and the issue is resolved. Very pleased.

If you'll check the download/installed dates displayed in the second attached pic above you'll see "2024-09-26." Today is "2024-10-13." That's two weeks in anyone's calender.
