Fila-Toon: Gen 9 only?

Hi, I saw the Fila-Toon addition but there seem only to be Genesis 9 "base toon figures", which is fine, but I am wanting to apply Fila-Toon to existing figures (8, 8.1). Will it work or is this a move to hasten the departure from Genesis 8/8.1 M/F?

The shader can be applied to anything.
It'll work. Actually the FilaToon shader can be apply to any surfaces, it's not limited to Genesis 9. Pls feel free to go ahead.
