Hi, I amcreating a scene where a character is attacked and the last minute it is shot by another character. I could just add a small wound but I wanted to go overboard and have its head explode from the gunshot. Trouble is I don't know where to even begin. Any ideas?

You would really need a new mesh for that, you can't break a model with a morph so there isn't a direct way to do it. You'd also probably need to model some of the inside of the head, depending on viewing angle. I suspect this is the kind of thing better handled by editing the image(s) after rendering.
The Gescon plugin has a fracture tool that has some possibility. Would likely take a bit of work to get the effect right.
