You can add a primitive plane and add your photo in the surfaces tab. Or, you can go to the environment tab and add your photo as a "backdrop". Make your plane or your render settings size match the aspect ratio of your photo to avoid stretching.
Open that tab like Barbult showed you, then drag it and attach it next to one of the other panes (I have mine next to Content Library) Then whenever you want to change out backdrops, it's easy. When you open Environment, you'll need to click to open the submenu and select backdrop, then click to Browse to an image. I can't open mine up right now to screenshot as I am installing products and I don't have the studio open when I am doing that. Just be aware you will be clicking to get to where you choose the image.

For me it is in the same pane group as Scene. If you don't see it, use the Window menu shown below to open it.
