HDRI Proportional Ratios

Can someone tell me if an HDRI for lighting, it has to have a certain proportional ratio in Daz, if you want the map to look distortion-free and sharp?. For example 4:3, 4:4 or 16:9 etc.

    The ratio is 4:2, so 8000px x 4000px for example.
