So where can I simply get the latest version of Daz please without all the confusion of this daz central stuff. thx.

Do a manual install from the latest DS Pro download page. Hopefully this link will work for you: https://www.daz3d.com/downloader/customer/files#prod_13176

Will need you to be logged in and have 'bought' it so it's in your product library.
