Can we pay using Paypal 'global' gift card code?

Someone has recently paid me for a commission using what he calls a "Paypal global gift card", and there is a code I'm supposed to enter to redeem it. However, I cannot find a place on Paypal's site to redeem any codes, so I assume this is used when checking out of certain online retailers. Is it possible to use this sort of method here at DAZ? I can check out using Paypal, but it connects directly to the credit card I have on file there rather than giving me an option to enter a code. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. :)

According to a Google search just now, you would add it to your "wallet" at PayPal, same as for any other credit card.
Look for a place where it says to "add money" ... put in the details including how much you want to redeem.
I checked Google earlier and there doesn't appear to be any place to add this sort of code on Paypal's site. Wallet only lets you add credit/debit cards or bank accounts. I do not have any option to "add money", not that it would help because I do not know how much I was paid (he bought this gift card before I asked for anything or gave him any Paypal information).
You might have to use the app for that.
I sometimes have problems with certain browsers on data security sensitive functions. My security settings just exclude them as if I had deactived part of Javascript.
Try it with Edge - that one usually ignores security settings of the user and works - at least it does for me, which means I only use it when I ran against a wall with Firefox or Chrome.
This is probably not your problem, but it MAY be.
Thanks for the suggestions, but I absolutely cannot find any place to enter this type of a code on Paypal's site or the mobile app, and I've tried with Chrome and Edge. I just do not understand this, as it should be as simple as you all say.
I think you're supposed to put the number into a gift card box when paying an online retailer who's part of the program. Not sure you can turn it into wallet money - just a bog standard gift card with PayPal branding
Ok, seems those old PayPal gift cards are no longer a thing. These new ones aren't actually PayPal and there are a few companies that do them. You go to the company's website, enter the number and your PayPal email address, and they send you a payment to your account. Nothing to do with PayPal at all. Gaming keys websites are littered with them.
Rewarble seems a popular one. Is that written on the card anywhere? I don't want to post a link to their redeem page because I'm just a person on the internet and you shouldn't trust me. But Google it and you'll find it. Or any other secondary branding buried on the card somewhere.
