Best converters for G9 to use G8F assets?

Hi. I'm interested in using G9 figures more, and I know there are several products to use for this, but I'm finding them a little confusing, or unsure if they're comprehensive, which ones are best for what kind of conversions (clothes, shapes, mats), that kind of thing. I don't want to waste purchases if I can avoid it.

Chiefly I'm looking to have G9s wear G8F clothes and hair, so I'd appreciate hearing what works best for that.

Past that, I am interested in shape and mat transfers, where G9 and G8 can swap interchangeably, so if there is a 'jack of all trades' conversion, that might be better to pick up too.

There's no converter which would convert everything from G8 to G9 and vice-versa.

 

Clothes and hair:

You can already have G9 wear G8F clothes and hair via autofit, the base G9 includes autofit clones for earlier Genesis figures. If you want batch converter, there are these:

If you want to autofit G9 clothes back to G9F you will need these (or make a clone yourself): https://www.daz3d.com/mmx-genesis-9-clones-for-all

Skins:

To use G8F skins on G9 there are 2 options:

• https://www.daz3d.com/legacy-uvs-for-genesis-9-genesis-3-8-and-81-female : modifies your G9 figure using geografts so it can use G8 textures
• https://www.daz3d.com/rssy-genesis-8-and-81-female-material-suit-for-genesis-9 : adds an "external layer" on your G9 figure which can take G8 textures

That's excellent, thank you very much. I'm piecing together a strategy around this now. Also wondering if there are pose converters between G8 and 9, I'll have to look later.

The G8F/M->G9 pose transfer I did at Rendo (second freebie in Leana's list) is also available on this forum (here) and will eventually be paired with a G9-G8FM convertor. However, I'm having so much difficulty enjoying G9 that I've started a couple of times and stopped after getting not very much further. It will happen, unfortunately, looking at how busy I am this year with real life, it'll be a struggle to complete this side of 2025. Must admit I don't feel a convertor is complete until you can go back to the origin character to check the conversion.
