Trading Card Game

Hello everyone.

Sorry if this post is in wrong section or it was already spoken on this forum.

I would like to make 2d Trading Card Game using some basic stuff from daz studio (like genesis figure).

I also want to create some things (like weapons etc) by myself. I'm going to use only static pictures of models and their clothing, properties and backgrounds. The game is going to be free to play. There will be no micropayments. Do I need to buy some license or not? I read EULa but I'm not sure if understood it corectly.

It is going to be rendered images...so if this is going to be online, then they will be gif, png, jpg (or whatever), right?

There will be no models involved in the game, just images?

In that case you are fine.

  • Yes it will be online. I haven't thought about what type of images I will use (whether it wil be jpg, png or any other). I want to involve images of basic genesis figure, which is a part of free version of daz studio.

As mjc1016  has explained, the use of rendered images in games is allowed.

What is not allowed without a gaming licence, is the use of the actual mesh of the figure (OBJ, FBX etc), images only, in any format is acceptable.

  • Thank you for your anserws.
