Purchased this morning, but haven't had a chance to play with it other than loading and looking at it (too many long renders burning today). But again, it's a great looking set. It seemed pretty easy on my system too. Loaded quick.

Got it as well, it looks very much like a few places around here.

The 2nd zip needs repacking, it has been reported.

  • Yeah all the missing texture files is a bummer, hopefully that'll get fixed soon

Thanks for putting me in the know on that. BB

Thought someone should add the link: Murt's Place

Oh right, I probably should have done that. Thank you!

  • Yay, working:)
  • I've started with a simple scene, to get the hang of the HIREZ and LOREZ. Should this set ever need to be updated, it would be great if the main scene group could have a label stating which res it is, e.g. Murt's Place HIREZ.

For this scene I swapped out the LOREZ parts which are close to the camera e.g. the 2 walls, posters, jukebox, floor, conduit, candles, furniture for HIREZ. I also hid groups which are not visible in the viewport. After 80 mins it rendered 12%, so I need to investigate how to speed it up.

I'm by no means a rendering expert, but I have noticed that when an environment is completely walled off and sealed like this one is, that removing something like a wall, a door, or a window that's not in the scene really decreases render times.  And I've also found that adding point lights into a scene slows rendering down too, so now I either give them size and shape using photometrics, or I use mesh lights.

Yes. The update yesterday listed 2 x Murt's Place zips, today's update corrects the zip naming as it was with the initial release: Murt's Place (1 of 2) and  Murt's Place (2 of 2)

...saw this and immediately fell in love with it,  The atmosphere is perfect for a small city pub.

My one question though, in the list of items and props it mentions beer taps, but I m unable to find them in any of the promos. .

Hello, and thank you! The beer taps are attached to the tap tree behind the bar, and you're 100% right, I completely neglected to show them in the promos. I also didn't show the lounge in the promos, but there is one. Don't know why, I think I was a little coffee deprived the day I was finishing the promos. cheeky  However, if you look in the examples I posted in this thread, you'll see the tap tree and beer taps in the 8th shot. Here's a direct link: 2c0cb7292eb4a3b6334139f46863c4.png (1462×873)

The taps are rigged, and you can pull the handles.
