Daz 4.5 not actually installing

Operating system: Win 10

Issue: I have tried multiple times to install Daz studio 4.5. I have ran it through the install manager which is the lastest version, and I have tried manual install, and manual install with admin permissions. In ALL cases my Anti virus was OFF just to be safe.

Daz install manager says it's isntalled, and Manual install goes sucessfully through ALL the steps it needs to before telling me it's done.

Yet when I go and try to run DazStudio 4.5, it's nowhere to be found. No icon on the desktop or in the start menu. No .exe foun in the isntall location where it's supposed to be installed. I need the bridge to bledner function for a big project I'm working on due to rigging and texture issues when exporting a model normally.

Has anyone had this issue before? If so, how did you fix it?

  • even running in safe mode didn't help

  • Why are you trying to install such an old version, the first non-beta, in which many current features will not work (remember that version numbers are integers, four of them seeparated by full stops - major version.minir version.update.build)? The SDK does include DS 4.5, since that is the base SDK version for testing, but I don't believe that is given the file associations etc. that would belong to the General Release. Have you checked under All Applications>Daz 3D?
