Duplicate Files

So, I'm working on a scene, everything is freebie stuff I am just putting together atm, still playing with learning Daz..

That said,

I readup on duplicate Id's and I've looked in the Log, there is nothing in the log, lol.

My problem isn't really that there are duplicate Id's, it's just after sometime getting this error on this scene, the problem arises when I'm loading the scene.. about 8/10 tries to open the file crashes Daz while loading the file, and 2/10 it actually loads the file gives all the errors and I'm good to go.

I saw some script, but the directions are not newb enough for me I guess...

anyways, I'm going to post th

I've used that scipt a couple times, but it's been a while.

if I remember correctly, you copy the script to the location of the .dsf file for the object that is causing the error.

then, open daz and do file->open and browse to the script and let it run.

*edit ->* I believe it then wants you to choose which dsf file it needs to rewrite.

that's it. it rewrites the dsf file so it has a new id

  • K,

Well last night I did a render, and now I cant seem to open the file again... keeps crashing Daz...

    :(

If I can manage to open it again, I will try the script..

  • Err... I can load it in 4.8, but got it loaded in 4.9 .. but in 4.9 I cant find the run scripts, in 4.8 it was on the top file/menu bar.. 4.9, no idea :(

  • nevermind, found it :)

  • I still dont understand this, sorry..

Does anyone have a link to a video of how to use this, or can make one for a newb?

I just dont get the script, it has so many options...

  • Please take a screenshot of the error and post it here.

  • I got it to work.. wasnt sure how to use the fixID properly.. but finally I just took a shot with it and it worked :)

Still tho.. I guess it's something better to use when something pops up as a problem, like right when it does apposed to waiting till the scene is done.. learn from my mistakes, fix it asap.. :)

  • So upon fixing the duplicate item, and saving the scene, reloading the scene had no errors, yet the clothing item did explode again...

So I guess it's a bug, the item is..

Pusey Designs. Genesis Underwear - Pants .. applied to a Gen2 Female..
