    1) either, load Smart Props to the scene, then manually tweak its position then parent it to the correct node

    2) or, check this once and for all solution: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/8818461/#Comment_8818461 The erc freezed clone can be very useful in many ways...

    3) or, use this product: https://www.daz3d.com/prop-minion

If so, I further suggest you go for the 2nd method. After the preparation work of making G8 Clone ERC Freezed, each time, you just load Smart Prop into the scene (not to load it to the figure), dial G8 clone, you'll find the Smart Prop is just at the correct position.

Then parent Smart Prop to the correct node, Zero Clone, done ! Then if there's a partial pose in the G8 Smart Prop product, apply G8 partial pose to G9 by using the recommended script. This workflow is pretty fast and totally free !

This is really quite brilliant! I just tried it and it worked great.

Thank you so much, it worked like a charm! ^^

One last question... how do I save the new "converted" smart prop? I find different ways online/youtube/the forums which is the correct one? I want save the prop WITH the hand posed correctly - so bascially when I click on the item from my library it loads prop AND hand posed. Thanks!

Still in the old school way : SELECT G9, save a Werable Preset to your Preset folder or just to the G8 product folder, select the converted Smart Prop in Wearable tab, then go to Pose tab, tick Include Pose... and select Hand node Only... shown in attached SS.

Then when you load this Wearable Preset, it'll load both Smart Prop and Hand pose.
