When I am rendering the pic for the freebie challenge I put in my lamp I made a bit ago from Shape Magic program and it is giving me error messages saying that the shaders are causing problems with the rendering of the picture the render itself gets to 40% and stops rendering there was no errors before I added the lamp.

Is there anyway to solve this and still keep the lamp in the render?

BTW: Rendering In 3Delight using UE for lighting and liner point light for the lamp Mainly used Textures to shade the Lamp.

This is before I added the lamp to it:

    3Delight message #45 (Severity 2): S2069: the interface of shader 'C:/Users/nancy lin/AppData/Roaming/DAZ 3D/Studio4/temp/shaders/brickyard/{407f8e5c-3a9b-4708-b5e5-799ff1fe7c1d}/shader_Surface.sdl' is invalid

That is the error meassage I am getting.

That's the typical shader has puked error...trace that path and delete the contents of the brickyard folder and rerender.  That will force a recompile of the shader.  There's a chance that the surface shader of the lamp is conflicting with another item in the scene...which shader is being used on it?

In the surface tab, select one of the lamp's surfaces and up at the top, it will list what shader is used on that surface.

Here is a half done render what I see is shocking cause it has not happened like this before as it is not the lamp that is causing the error it is the other actor I put in the pic. See for yourself:

  • Did you try saving your file, close DS and restart then load your file?  Sometimes that fixes whatever it is that happens when the characters go white like that.

Yes I did I closed all out and then reloaded daz and then opened the saved .duf file and still did the same thing.

What version of DS do you use? And what skin is that?  It might use a shader not installed properly, or if you're using a version of DS before 4.8 it might be a problem of having only Iray materials which won't work properly since you don't have Iray.

I use 4.8 for this render and  do see what u mean about IRay when I clicked on Jenna all maybe it has things to do with IRay in it although it does not state that. hmm I am going to go and check that right now
