random stop of undo function

Hi everyone, D/S 4.22.0.16 has been confusing me lately, I hit control/z and find I'm back to much earlier events. Typically, I realize that the undo stack is missing when I do a parameter change, hit control/z, and the item i've been working on for a while is deleted! surprise The only other related info would be that, I think each time it was a scene with G9 having either timeline keyframes, aniblocks, or both, applied. When loading legacy hair to only be parented to the G9 head later, when loading hair the timeline stopper advances cause keyframes have been added, even though the figure is at frame zero. After struggling to delete the keys and moving and scaling the hair many times, at least the hair wont move, but many times I'll lose all my adjustments with control/z cause the stack wasn't generating. Maybe I should use the menu window undo to keep track of whats in the stack, but I undo so much and control/z is so much faster. Anyway, this is a random event, on reloading it works fine. The scenes were one G9 with clothing and legacy hair, minimal lighting in Filament mode. I'm running 32gb ram and an RTX 3060 TI.  Anybody have this happen? smiley Thanks / peace

Thanks crosswind, I hadn't seen that one. Question: any ideas about why loading a legacy hair would also add keys to it, other than just the default one? (when before loading, the timeline is first set to frame zero) Thanks again smiley/ peace

It seems that I don't have any legacy hair but AFAIK, as long as there're TRSO.. set in Types on timeline, when you load whatever an object, there should be a keyframe created only at frame zero... rather than multiple keys. Maybe you can check if the hair set or preset of that legacy hair you mentioned was ever saved with keys. (open the user-facing file with Notepad++...)

I ever experienced some issues that vendors saved the user-facing files with animated range 'cause they forgot to clear animation before saving.

Thanks crosswind, Maybe not accurately, but I refered to it as legacy hair cause it's not dforce or strand based etc., actually the recent example was loading Cutie Hair by Lady Littlefox for G3f & 8. That's interesting to hear about PA's forgetting to delete keys, I'll see if I can make any sense out of reading the .duf.  Thanks for the reply, your comments are always iluminating! smiley / peace

Ah, I have this hair but never used it before...IIRC... haha~~ You're right, G3 version is loaded fine but G8 version is loaded with animated range. If you open Cutie Hair Genesis 8 Female.duf with Notepad++, you'll see them. (screenshot 1)

Easy to fix: delete the coding block in between line 169824 ~ 170629. Then remember to delete the comma in line 169823, then Save ! (screenshot 2). The hair will be loaded with no animation.

Wow crosswind! That was an amazing call! I was, of course, using the G8f version ( which IMO looks pretty good in Filament, with darker coloring, of course ). And it's much appreciated having the screencap .duf edit instructions, many thanks to you for taking the time for these very helpful, in depth, responses! yessmiley/ peace
