[Answered] LIE: A How To?
I have a product that says I can make my own customized images for use with the product (https://www.daz3d.com/insignia-expansion-for-atlas-armored-suit) but trying to do so is not working for me. I've never used the Layered Image Editor option in DAZ and my stumbling through multiple attempts has seen me fail multiple times. Here's what I've done:
I've opened the Layered Image Editor with the file I thought would be edited. Then I added a layer but it didn't seem to work. I went into Photoshop and created an image that looked like the others. I went back to the LIE and searched for my image to use as the layer and my image was a fraction the size of the others. I don't understand because I used one of the others as my template when creating my image. In all, I'm not sure of my next move.
If anyone could provide me with instructions or point me to a reference to learn from, I'd very much appreciate that.

How great is the size difference? If the new one is only 91 pixels square that sounds like a thumbnail, not the full image (if the images are in a folder set as a Render Library then DS wil generate thumbnails for al of the image files, even if they are not actually renders). A map that was purely an insignia item might well be at the smaller end, 512 pixels square according to the product page, since it is used to overlay only part of the main texture.
One of the three items is for a last name. When I go into LIE, I can add a layer, put a name on the layer, but it doesn't show up in the workspace where the name should appear on the name tag. Only the original name is there. I know I'm doing something wrong. I'm embarrassed to have to ask so many questions. I want to conquor this. Thank you for your input.
Open Lie, with the base texture applied.
Add two new layers, usually.
Load the decal into one and position it as desired.
If necessary load a mask image into the second layer, set it to mask the first layer, and position it correctly
Apply to the surface.
Hello Richard,
Thank you for those directions. I will try it.
