Freebie Challenge July-August 2024 - "Take a Break" - Main Thread
Take a break, have a coffee, or a vacation at the beach, have a moment of peace with a good book, a delicious ice cream or a walk in the garden - everyone takes a break in a different way.
So show us your way to take a break, take us into the mood of relaxing and the mind off the daily hassle.
This is a double month challenge which will end on 31st of August 24
New rule: The use of image generating AI technology (midjourney, stable diffusion, DAZ AI Studio, etc.) is not allowed. The use of items (freebies or paid) that have been created with such technology is also not allowed. We realise it's not always easy to tell; let's all use our best judgement, and you can always ask the person hosting the contest if you're not sure.
The Rules For This Months Freebie Challenge are:
1. A minimum of (5) Freebies must be included in your image along with Links to the freebies you have used. For an item to be considered free it must be offered as a freebie for the whole month. The exception to this rule is all Daz Bi-Weekly Freebies will be allowed throughout the entire month in which they are free as well as the month following their release as a freebie (For a total of 2 months). Also, if a freebie is broken down into multiple downloads/links/parts (IE like if the freebie is broken down into 3 zips etc...)it only counts as 1 freebie, not 3.
2. There will be a Maximum of 5 purchased items.
3. Base figures (All Gen 2,3,4, and Genesis 1,2,3,8 and 9) as well as their general morphs packs (Morphs++ and similar) do not count as a purchased item or a freebie and may be used as needed
4.Your Rendered Picture must be a new render and postwork is allowed but you MUST include a before and after Postwork versions of your entry in the Entry Thread.
5. All DAZ 3D Programs are allowed (IE Bryce, Carrara, Daz Studio and Hexagon) plus Poser for the contest.
6. All entries are subject to the Daz3D TOS Found Here: Terms Of Service
7. You may enter a Maximum of 4 Entries per month.
8. You may edit your entry as much as you like in the main thread but once it is posted to the "Entries Thread" it may not be further modified. Also, if you edit or add things, be sure you update any links or freebie changes you make.

A question to be sure: does it include Genesis 9 Starter Essentials Expansion ? I ask because I have no idea if the eyebrow I used in a render are from Genesis 9 Starter Essentials or from the Expansion.
starter essentials go as no count, it's something everybody got with the program, so not bought but also not a precious found free item, though the expansion is something that needs to be bought, so that would count towards the bought items.
if you find the respective eyebrow in the smart content or content library (whereever you picked it to choos for your character and you right click on theitem image it shows you the option to go to the product in a popup, that way you might find out about it's origin.
also you could go to it's surface and if it has a map file in one of the slots, right clicking on that gived you the option to browse to the folder of the material, that usually offers the name of the product as well in some way

I selected eyebrows from the Expansion
It doesn't have any map (I'm using the fiber version) but when I tried with the card version, the maps were in a sub-directory of a "Base" directory, and scene identification told me that the eyebrows were part of Genesis Starter Essentials (which in a way, is logical: the expansion is adding styles and colors to the base provided by the Starter Essentials so they need to share a Compatibility Base). But like I said, your other trick showed me it was part of the Expansion.

I did some postwork as explained in the gallery: I mixed two render, one with the hair, one without, to remove the hair clipping through the headphone (I wanted to fix that with another dformer, like the one I used to push down the hair under the headphone, but Daz crashed when I tried to add a weight map to a second dformer added to the hair), and I changed the pictures levels, making it a bit brigther. A jpg picture of the raw render is attached to this message.

The other question I have is, do I have to mention the items obtained in christmas time are no longer available?
Also leave like that the essentials details, just to have a better understanding, because I haven't had experience about how to present the entry listing.
If Irene character link is a NSFW, I will change that with another character, I hope this is ok for you, then I will post an updated version.
In the meantime, I will do the rework.
first things first,
there is no need to change the image in any way just add a "(NSFW)" to the line with the link, so that people who follow the ink know what to expect, that's fully enough
as for the way to list items, you might have seen this structure by other participants
freebies: ... which list all free items still available as free and not part of the genesis* starter essentials (plus items that have been a free item during the last 4 weeks but might not be anymore, like the ones from the DAZ main page, which change about every ttwo weeks)
no count items: ... items you acquired as free items but are either no longer free or are no longer available or you made them yourself but they are not available for the public, plus all genesis * starter essentials
paid items: ... the name explains it
I hope this makes sense to you.
There is no absolute requirement to make it like this but it helps the hosts for the challenges tremendously

However, I am not convinced with the render I have done first, so I am about to post the final Revision anyway.
I have been unconvinced about the first render posted above.
