d-Force hair not rendering (switch tool tip not working) (lray)

[d-Force hair not rendering (switch tool tip not working) (lray)] Hi. It seems that the popular solution to this problem is to change to a Universal Tool or similar tool. However, it still won't preview render. I have no idea what to do. View attachments.

dForce hair is typically set not to show fully in Iray preview. Select the hair - the hair itself, not the skullcap/scalp - and check Preview PR Hairs in the Simulation heading of Parameters.

If you want to preview a strand-based hair (SBH) in Viewport, select the SBH under the Hair Cap node in Scene pane, in Parameters pane, turn on Preview PR Hairs, set Viewport Line Tessellation Sides to >=2.

    Thanks both!

It's a popular solution because it is one of the correct solutions - having any tool active which shows only the raw geometry will cause several issues with attempts to render, hairs will appear as only the guides, GeoGrafts will unweld and their hidden polygons will be visible and so on. It doesn't have to be a transform tool - Surface Selection or Spot render will also work - but it does have to be a tool that allows DS to show the final geometry.
