Hair Problems

I'm having serious issues with three hair products I purchased direct from DAZ. They used to work perfectly but now, whenever I use them, they crash DAZ Studio during renders. This happens every time I try to render with them. I've tried uninstalling them and reinstalling them - no joy. Sadly they have now become totally unusable products and it's a shame because a) I love them and b) I paid for them. Any suggestions? The items are: Cute Braids for Genesis 8 and 8.1 Females, Marigold Hair for Genesis 3 and 8 Female(s) and Madeline Tails Hair for Genesis 3 and 8 Female(s).

    The second two are OOT hairs and so the crash is well documented and there is a fix if you have updated them all. However, assuming you use DIM then the issue is with a shared library and so if the last OOT hair you installed was unfixed then it breaks them all I think.

    The manual fix is to go to the surfaces tab and remove the map from "Transmitted Color".

    Not sure about the Cute Braids hair is there anything in the logs when it crashes? I do have it myself so can test it after work tonight.

    Thanks for getting back to me. I'll try what you suggested for the OOT products. As for the Cute Braids - it just says there is a 'fatal error' and closes DAZ Studio. I'll try it gaian and see if there is any more information.

    If you successfully updated all OOT Hairs you have, there should be no shader issue anymore, as they're all fixed. If the issue still persists, press F2, Clear DSON cache firstly... before you reload OOT hair. Check this thread - https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/656941/oot-hair-causing-crashes-in-4-22

    I have no issue with Cute Braids... but since it is a strand-based hair which consumes much more system resources, check if you have enough RAM / VRAM, as well as try adding more virtual memory first of all.

    Thanks for the advice and link. Cute Braids used to work so I don't think I have RAM/VRAM issues. It's just stopped functioning. I'll keep trying to fix it. Have a great evening.

    Thanks for all the help with this issue. Pleased to say that the OOT hairs now seem to be working fine since I reinstalled one of them. The Cute Braids is still an issue - sadly. I tried a render with it agin today and got the following error message in the log:

    2024-06-01 10:20:12.276 [WARNING] :: \src\pluginsource\DzIrayRender\dzneuraymgr.cpp(376): Iray [FATAL] - API:MEMORY :: Memory allocation failed.
