I am lookinh for another sale to come by though. The door busters not busting down my door at all. Bought a couple but not many lately. Premium or + for the day have been mediocre for me. Pucked up a couple. Overall the sale has been kinda bad. I did grab the Premier offer, but the free bundles are useless to me. I have been picking up a couple items out of the bindles that interest me, so now, I'm not interested in the remainder or I would have bought them before.

I don't know where to put this comment. I'm really gag-reflex repulsed by the so-called anime and toon offerings I've seen since filatoon came out. Just ew! No to Vicky and Mikey et al. I will never buy any of that!

that toon stuff makes shopping easy here now... just whoosh right by them. Ueah, I'm not into toons much either, especially that style.

Yeah... it'll be interesting to see if the balance  evens out after a while. Right now it makes sense; there's very little for the people embracing the new form to work with, so naturally the new selections would be bombarded with it. Does suck when so many of the discounts hinge on buying a debut new and your possibilities have now drastically been cut down if you're not into that style, on top of whatever-all-else you already weren't into (be it skimpwear, come-hither poses, G9, particular genre, whatever).

I do think it was a massive lack of foresight that there doesn't appear to be a way to filter that stuff either in or out, for all the reasons one would expect.

I love the celluloid style, and I was excited the day Filatoon came out, but then I realized that to get to the level I wanted, it would take a lot of time to learn and buy products, and frankly there are better options. I chose to wait and see and not buy.

After I missed the 30% off GC, there is not much left. I heard that this month's sale should be a great deal, so I gave up a lot of DAZ original merchandise last month, but now? Maybe my party will end early , or never started.

I really like the new toon shader, and I'm fond of anime style, but realistically, at the moment, I don't need any of it, and as AsuCafe, I'd have to buy too much and learn too much, so all the interesting stuff goes to the wishlist and backburner.

Other than that, I bought a few door busters and a few of the Daz+ for a Day items, and aside for D+ items for discounts, I got one new release, I think. Featured Artists selection feels like it's almost the same every day, and the discounts aren't anything special, so I mostly skim past it. Perhaps I'll make some more purchases at the end of the sale, if there's a catch up.

The BYOB is a horrible offer from my perspective. Many of those items could be brought down with stacking discounts and/or tokens below $2 a pop. Why would I pay $10 for it?

Its not on my buy list but I definitely think its a good business idea, most applications thatr deal with this style tend to be... for naughty purposes. So if they can tap into a new market and get new reveniue then everybody wins.

To be honest it is so distinct from the normal Daz stuff that it really could use a separate store page...

There is no separate store page for any other category. Some people don't want creepy Halloween stuff, some people don't want skimpwear, some people don't want G9, some people don't want (or only want) Iray, or 3Delight, or Filament/FilaToon. I don't think toon stuff requires a separate "page", anymore than any other category of assets. Where do you draw the line?

a separate store area for G8, 9, old, toons, etc etc. Then broken down into hair, figures, clothing, textures, environments, poses, and so forth. Yeah, I could dig that. maybe it would be easier to search for stuff.

I have bought most of the door buster $1 deals so far. About half were wish listed and the others were items that for a $1 could be useful at some point, especially when considering they are NOT DO items. Relatively new non-Daz-Original items for 95% off or more with no buy in is amazing. I have not bought any of the daz+ or premier+ for a day stuff. Not enough stuff that I am interested in each day to warrant me buying a debut new item I don't want to drop the price. Been hoping they will do a special where they bring a bunch of the items back simultaneously where we might be able to get the same discount when buying debut new but with a much larger selection. I like the new toon style, but it will be a while before I mess with it at all. Waiting to see what this Thursday brings on the 31st before I use my free bundle code. So far Premier is worth it to me. It's a lot more expensive per month, but the better coupons, the $1 daily items, and the 30% of GC special have made it so I have gotten alot with spending relatively little. Their are a few things in the new BYOB that are good with it, but I mostly have those items already. About 80% of the items listed total are either just OK at best or cheaper with out the special.

Filatoon means installing 4.23, and I decided not to do that now. So, I guess I'm still using PWToon. I don't do a lot of cel-shaded images, and it does work pretty well. I feel bad you gave up stuff from the PA sale. I was one of those saying this sale is pretty great. It usually is - The Premier intro really vexed it, I think. I suppose if one wanted to spend a bigger chunk of money, the Premier sale is still fine. That's what some folks are saying, anyway - It's based on the idea of having Premier and gathering a lot of tokens and spending more to get the savings for more and so forth. I don't care to do that.

You could be right. I'm ok with cel-shading and a toon look. It's these specific newly-released characters that repulse me. And I would not care to see them doing anything naughty. surprise

I suppose the argument against revolves around the additional time and resources required to set up and maintain the separate area. Every day, the main store has glitches and malfunctions for a few to several hours after Daz midnight. I can only imagine what would happen with a second product queue and whatever else goes into all that.

From what I've seen, the store software gets wonky anytime someone looks at it funny.

We really don't need separate stores for different types of content. That can be done with a robust filtering system based on product data. Now we just need DAZ to build one... angel

Only reason I picked up the Vicky 9 bundle is I had  no interest in the other free bundles (& that was before the contents were tweaked) & was curious. But it and the new toon G9 essentials are enough to satisfy my curiosity.

I am looking at the BYOB selection to see if I can come up with 5 between my couple of included WL models plus a few "that's cool & close to something pricier in my WL." But I will probably pass. My WL D+ aren't high priority right now.

Good news, today's New Releases include https://www.daz3d.com/primitive-houses-2 for $1.80 if you have +/Premier. Not toon/anime & super cheap.

Exactly! They have a framework. It is the "robust" that is missing.

D+ is showing it at $2.49... which is still prety cheap for a trigger item, but I'd never use it. I was debating getting it anyway to trigger a few other things on my WL, just so I could use up my $6/$18 coupon, but it didn't drop any of them below what they often are to eat the fact that that's almost half the coupon value right there.

$1.80 shows on the daily sales page & it my cart, so it may be the Premier price. The one thing I am considering buying, it will offset the cost by several times.

  • FYI on the current BYOB selection:

https://www.daz3d.com/sci-fi-rusty-railyardhttps://www.daz3d.com/enclosed-side-gardenhttps://www.daz3d.com/tropical-beachhttps://www.daz3d.com/firing-range, & https://www.daz3d.com/se-planet-saxum won't work with the deal. It's been reported but no response yet.

Planet Saxum is New - there may be other New ones I missed.

The other 4 probably don't work because they are D+ Exclusives, not plain old D+; that is, they could only be bought by members, not by nonmembers at higher prices. Probably never intended to be discounted. But Daz 3D apparently didn't have a plan for fitting them into the new tiers. (Add that to the Didn't Think This Through list.)

Even though not being able to include the planet & the beach is a deal breaker for me on this set & I would prefer it not be tied to a coupon code, I still think this is almost as good as the previous BYOB. There are more recent items than in the past, and $2 each is decent for many of them. (Not the oldest, of course which are under $1 without the deal. LOL)

The four DAZ+ exclusives do work for the 5/$10 if you're DAZ+. I just checked, and they discounted to $2 each for me. I'm guessing they just didn't add Premiere to the people allowed to buy them.

Yes. I own all but one already. I added the Enclosed Side Garden with no difficulty. In fact, I added only 2 items and the coupon code, and they both discounted to $2. I did not have to add 5 items. I ended up adding a third and checked out successfully for $6.

Thanks. It doesn't seem fair to members who swtched to Premier to not be able to purchase them while those who didn't switch can still get them.

Wow, I think the FilaToon stuff is the best thing to come from Daz since dForce! I can reuse all my existing content in a whole new way with instant renders! I hope they come out with more FilaToon content although it seems pretty easy to add the shaders to most older content. I whoosh by regular stuff looking for toon content lol.

If daz could fix the library filtering and store filtering so you could filter by meta data like shoe, ring, gun, skort, gen8.1, is the best upgrade you could do.

Filatoon is super easy! You don't even need to buy anything, just play with the free characters (that you can use other morphs on) and play with the shaders on all your existing content! And to whoever mentioned that toon stuff was for making "naughty' images (I think that's how they phrased it) must be living in a different world. Have you never seen children's books or cartoons? It never even occurred to my brain to use the toon shaders in that way.

This was not intended, and in fact they will be losing their exclusive status. The main obstacle is identifying them - if we can get a full list they should be doable today, while the offer is good. So far I have
