Tinting Iray Lights

I use tinted lights regularly to affect the mood of my scene, (see Evac! in my gallery for the most obvious example) but when I render in Iray, the light tints are ignored.

If I wanted to render the real-world equivalent of a light with a red gel in Iray, how would I do that?

Thanks.

  • You can tint lights in Iray - what type of light are you using?

I have a red gel setup and a sample scene available in this thread:

I used spots. When I render in 3Delight, the lighting comes out right, but when I switch over to Iray, the exposure stays the same but all the lighting effects are gone. What am I missing?

Edit: Here's a link to my image: http://www.daz3d.com/gallery/#images/96510/

The same model with no changes rendered in Iray comes out without the bright spot out the window and with no light tints.

    Thanks.

Select the light, then go to the Surfaces tab, Editor section, go down to Emissive Color, click on that to set the color. Luminance adjusts the brightness.
