So you made and saved a character long ago. You open the project, you can't remember what the clothes are. Is there a way to click on an item and tell some kind of details like here in your library it is? Thanks.

You can try selecting it in the scene tab.
If you then hoover over the middle bottom line of the scene tab, when it turn yellow with a bit wider in middle and click it. It will open the node info, and based on that you might be able to determin where it is from.
Else, open your scene file in a text editor (unzip first, if it is compressed), and then find where it loads the item.
Thank you.
You can try running this script: daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/referenceguide/scripting/api_reference/samples/metadata/list_products_used/start
It's a bit hit-and-miss when I have tried it as sometimes it just says all assets come from the "LOCAL USER" product but if it plays nice for you then it should list the products used to populate the assets in the scene.
Other than that and felis' suggestions, if it has textures applied to the surfaces you can look at the path of those to give you a hint as to the author/product that they are from.
Select the item in the scene file. Click on File - Save As - Support Asset - Figure/Prop Assets
Fill in any name in the save as dialogue to get to the Save Options window.
In the Figure/Prop Assets Save Options popup you will see the Asset Directory (the Daz Library where your fille is)
Vendor name will tell you who made the item (1)
Product Name will tell you what the data folder is called (2)
Item Name will tell you what the clothing item name is (3)
There's a good chance the Compatibility Base line will show the product name as its shown in the store.
Click cancel when you're done - not accept - all we want to do is see where all the files are.
It does depend on what is in the database, if the data there is bad or has been damaged then the script will reflect that.
I usually just go to surfaces .. select a diffuse surface on the item and click the "browse" option which will usually open to the texture folder which will give you the name of the creator and the other files will be in the same area.
