VR Render Arena and Kamera Mode

To create VR content I use the camera's stereoscopic lenses. This naturally creates a 360 degree view, which means I have to export an image in a 2:1 ratio.
Since two images of only 180 degrees each are required for the usual VR mode SBS 180, I have to crop the sides of each image in order to get two side-by-side images of 1:1 each.
This means that I throw away half of every rendered image.
Is there a way to crop the images before rendering, or to adjust the camera accordingly?
And furthermore, is there any chance that DAZ will introduce a kind of camera mode for VR? After all, Meta and Apple have already discovered the topic^^
