About D/S4.21.05 - rendering issue discovered by me just this day
I know, this is an older edition and hopefully this problem was solved a long time ago.
But just in case anybody else is using this edition I discovered it won't stop rendering when told to.
I was testing out scenes from a product which apparently also changes the rendering type settings [please do not do that guys] and I realized I was about to get hundreds of the same image on my already cluttered desktop. So I tried to 'cancel' the render. Request was totally ignored. I "x" the box. The box went away but D/S kept rendering. Can't do anything with D/S so I closed the program. D/S was still rendering [images kept appearing on the desktop!]
I had to use the Alt Ctrl Delete option to find and close D/S.
By the way, when the renderer is still working in the background after one thinks they have cancelled the render, and one tries to continue working in D/S one can get either a black or a white viewport.

This was reported a while ago and is, as I recall, fixed in a beta build - I think that should now be in the current Public Build, though I have not had occasion to encounter it.

That's great, thank you.
I only just encountered it recently as most scenes and subscenes that I load don't normally affect my choice of 'render type.'
