Problem getting desired lighting effect

Hi guys... Relatively new to Daz and I don't want to be a nuisance with a ton of questions, so I have been watching every tutorial I can get my hands on, reading faqs, and searching the forums for most of my questions. However, there is one certain effect that I am trying to create that I am really struggling with. I have scoured and searched any way I can think of to find a way to do it, with no luck. If any one can lead me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated!
Here's what I am trying to achieve...
I have a dark night scene and I am trying to get an effect where a figure is back lit. The figure should be dark, almost like a silhouette or with some faint shadows of the back light color. What I am REALLY struggling with is, I want the light from behind the character to shine around the character giving almost like a light aura glowing around it. Not sure if that makes sense.
Any advice or suggestions?
Thanks in advance for your assistance!

What you are looking for is called godrays. As I don't know which renderer you are using (iray or 3dlight or something else completely) the help I can offer is limited. I believe for both renderer there are products available to get the effect: https://www.daz3d.com/expanded-godrays-iray, https://www.daz3d.com/simple-godrays, https://www.daz3d.com/expanded-godrays-celestial-bodies. For 3dlight you can try as well with uber volume lights. Anything of that sort will increase render times substancially.
More Rim lighting than Crepuscular rays (God rays) I would have thought. http://www.daz3d.com/rim-light-rig
Thanks guys. This was really helpful. I'm not sure exactly which of the two suggestions you've given me will end up working but I do appreciate you sending me in the right direction. Seems like both have qualities I am looking for and both have potential. I was trying to do it with just a backlit spotlight. But there are options that I have used to do it before in Carrara 8.5 that I didn't see in Daz. Appreciate the help!!
